Guest guest Posted May 17, 2010 Report Share Posted May 17, 2010 TIS: Temporary Immediate Supports (TIS) is a home that provides immediate supports to individuals with developmental disability who reside in the State of GA and do not meet the criteria for inpatient psychiatric care but are experiencing problems that have escalated to the point of requiring hospitalization. The TIS Program provides interventions to these individuals in an effective community based environment. The TIS home is a state resource which will re-route individuals who may be inappropriately placed in a crisis stabilization program facility or hospital emergency room. TIS is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. (stays last from 3-14 days) Who is Eligible: Individuals must be between the ages of 10 and 17 years old and diagnosed with a developmental disability and is experience a severe situational crisis which has significantly compromised safety and/or functioning in one or more areas… · Presents a substantial risk of harm to self and/or others · Severely limited skills to cope with the immediate crisis · Demonstrates lack of judgment and/or impulse control to manage the crisis · Demonstrates lack of cognitive/perceptual abilities to manage the crisis Payment Options: TIS is a state contracted service that provides a cost effective alternative to hospitalization. Individuals and families are NOT charged for receiving TIS services.
