Guest guest
Hi Everyone, While we're on the subject, does anyone know where to find PECS apps or some sort of language-based apps, so a non-verbal kid can use these for communication if they wish? (or for an Android phone) I've looked on the Apple apps and the Google apps for Androids and I can't seem to find them. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Thanks, Jeanne
Guest guest
Go to your App Store on your iphone or go to your itunes account and type kindergarten.com in the search. There are 24 ABA apps. 9 of them cost 99 cents each and the rest are free. I got them all free in April for Autism Awareness Month. I love them! Guest guest
type in autism when you search the app store and it will come up with a few of them (voice4u, AAC speech buddy, etc).. we have Proloquo 2 go which is a speech program with PECS. We don't use it very much on the ipod or phone because while it does work, the devices just aren't loud enough to be useful. You can get external speakers which is something we haven't done, they really are best for the ipad. There are other apps as well, the one we have seems closest to the Dynavox but I haven't checked many of the other ones out. Some of them are photo based and have their own " characters " and I try to keep it consistent with the PECS system since that is what is used at school. We have the kindergarten ABA cards but they aren't helpful for communication purposes, they are more of a flash card type activity. They do have taptotalk for android.. http://www.taptotalk.com/ looks like there is a free demo for you to try it out which would be helpful, and it is cheaper than proloquo which is almost $300. Good luck! :@) > > Hi Everyone, > While we're on the subject, does anyone know where to find PECS apps or some sort of language-based apps, so a non-verbal kid can use these for communication if they wish?
