Guest guest
Sometimes a species becomes so specialized that it can't adapt if there is even a small change to its environment. The Cheetah is an example. Because of selection pressures for speed and a genetic bottleneck from some disaster thousands of years ago, the Cheetah is a creature that is barely held together. By that I mean most of them today have ailments related to being long and lean, mostly back problems. The species is slowly dying out because of these things. Many other species from insects to higher animals have gone the same way. Humans could die out too but no so much from genetic but because of how urbanized we have become. If we go extinct it will probably be because we have done something to disrupt out society and most will starve because they have no knowledge or ability to farm for themselves.
