Golden Retriever - we tried...

We got a golden retriever puppy about 2 months ago. Her name is Abby and she is now about 4 months old. She is crate trained and she's beautiful (she's an english creme), but I think it's not going to work out for me. The first problem is that my husband and I are not really pet people anyway, but we thought this would be so good for . Well is 4 and he's very rough. He keeps pulling her, pinching her, etc. We've been unable to train HIM on how to deal with the puppy. He doesn't get it. Because of this we have to constantly watch both of them if Abby is out of the crate. My husband works from home so he's the one home with the kids and the dog and I think he's starting to lose it. On top of this, he just lost his job so the stress level in our house is beyond

what's even normal for us.

Any advice, please? I actually put her on Craigslist today because I feel like we're not giving her the attention and excersize she needs. I am starting to lose it, and you guys know what I mean!! The edge is always just RIGHT there and I'm on it right now!!
