Melinda, it isn't dessert, but chunk coconut is very chewy and tasty.

I am hooked on it. It is great in the car since it doesn't melt or

get ground into the carpet. I guess it might leave an oil stain,

though.

Marta,

That reminds me of the time me and was awake at 3:30 am playing

games during the summer. We decided to open this coconut. It was damned near

impenetrable! We used a hammer and still couldn't break it. Finally got this

heavy Pan and the damned thing shattered and shot cocconut chunks everywhere!

l picked chunks of cocconut out of 3 rooms for days....LOL. Do you know a

secret that I don't? It was open because got a drink at Riverfest that

the coconut was the glass....

Mel, at the risk of sounding as though I only shop at one store:

Trader Joe's sells lightly sweetened, slightly dried chunk

coconut, " tender and young " . lol Sounds like Turkey.

IS there another store?

Well, okay, COSTCO is great for *bathroom tissue* and rotisserie

chickens. But other than that, it's TJ's. My mother HATES TJ's

because nothing looks familiar to her and thus the adventure requires

the use of cognitive skills...which Mom is saving for a rainy day.

(We've got a STORM going and she's still saving. I love her dearly,

but a needy 83-year-old can be somewhat wearing on the nerves.)

Anyway, I have to take her to Ralph's, but " I loves me my Trader Joe's. "

They were in the front directly to the right as you enter, but then

they moved them to an end aisle display, the one to the far left near

the new coffee site. They like to keep us guessing! lol THese are

half-inch wide and LONG! I got yelled at for saying " I should've

broke these up into shorter pieces " since DH does not want me to

change a thing about the way I cooked the dish I made with them.

Hmmm, somehow he got the impression I am not a good cook! lol

Probably because I change every recipe, never do the same thing twice!
