Guest guest
There is a resource website called www.thespecialguide.com. We use it to find services for special needs. We found our dentist and our haircut place through them. They also have schools listed with parents reviews.Goodluck,Borz

Guest guest
We were there for a year and loved it! Yes...fantastic people. And they help with daily living skills also, like potty-training, dressing, etc. They only do ABA for kids with autism, I believe, so they are very aware of our needs and how to best teach our children. - My grandson goes to Kaleidoscope ABA therapy for the past two years, they have done wonders with them (he is 9 1/2) public school just didn't work with him at all and this is where he needs to be. Guest guest
Hello Everyone, This has been insightful for me. We just moved to this area, and my four year old just started getting OT services for sound sensitivity and he will be evaluated for speech therapy. He will be in Kindergarten this fall. Has anyone heard anything about Sope Creek Elementary? We have started looking at private schools primarily for smaller class size, more challenging curriculum, and more individual attention. Any feedback any of you have about Sope Creek or any other private school would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Deepa Subject: SchoolsTo: autism-georgia Date: Wednesday, January 5, 2011, 11:27 AM Hello all! My name is . I am in the process of moving to the Atlanta area, preferably North Atlanta. I am looking for any advice on counties to move to or schools for my son to attend. Seeing as how I have no clue about the area, I'm at a loss. My son is 8 yrs old. He is a high functioning austistic child. He has a current IEP that will be updated before we move. He was mainstreamed last year into a classroom of 19 and it was the worst thing they could have done so this year he moved into a smaller classroom. One with 8 students. He's doing well with that and I'm looking for something similar. Can anyone help me before we move. My fiance' is in Atlanta now working and searching for home but we want to pick the right county/area for him to get the most support. Thanks in advance for all your help. Guest guest
Hello, I personally recommend Fayette County which is located South of Atlanta. My son has made such wonderful progress there. Fayette County has a award winning school system with award winning schools. Deepa Shriram wrote: >Hello Everyone, >This has been insightful for me. Guest guest
Ditto to what Dinema said! Fayette has been fantastic for us. My son's teachers have even Facebook-friended me - talk about being accessible. - mom to Bobby, age 7.5, dx "mild" classical autism at age 2, very sensory-seeking, talking lots, and doing math and slepping in a typical class!>>>>Subject: Schools>To: autism-georgia >Date: Wednesday, January 5, 2011, 11:27 AM>>> >>>>Hello all! Guest guest
Hi , I live in northern Gwinnett County in Sugar Hill. My daughters have attended Sugar Hill Elementary for the past 4 years & I couldn't be more happy with the school. It's been a great experience for my daughter in their Autism resource program. There is a public preschool down the street from the elementary school called The Buice Center. I don't have any personal experience, but have many friends whose children attend or have attended there & they have been very happy. Good luck on your search & if you have any questions about Sugar Hill I would be happy to answer them. Wendie > > Hello everyone, my name is also and I'll be moving to Atlanta at the end of January.
