Guest guest
ok, now ya all have to have good imaging skills for this one,,LOL in trying to figure out a way to not have the goats waste sooo much hay,,, I came up with this idea,,now along the one wall in our barn, my husband built a hay rack,,using 2x4's on the sides and one along the bottem and used a cattle panel as the rack. the top of the rack is about 4 inches from the wall, and the bottom is like 2 inches from the wall,,the goats eat all day, and pull and drop about 50% of this hay on the ground beneath the hay rack,,,so since we will be getting a lil beef cow in spring,,I thought if I built a wooden barrier around the bottem of the hay rack,,so the hay falls into in when they pull it out,,about 1ft from the wall,,and cut out the bottem of the wall on the other side,,put the calf on that side,,and whatever the goats drop, falls into this "trap" and the calf can eat it up, from the other side,,, Well,, what do ya think ???? in PA
