Guest guest Posted September 24, 2004 Report Share Posted September 24, 2004 Back in the days when the grapefruit diet was popular (in those days, only the much less sweet pink or white was generally available) and there was no other sugar substitute other than saccharine (which tastes particularly nasty on grapefruit to my tongue, lol), I learned that a little salt cuts the sourness in foods. To this day, I've always used a couple sprinkles of salt on grapefruit.
