I do not know your husband and I don't know how he would react if you

were to do what I'm about to suggest but I'm going to suggest anyway.

I think it's absolutely mandatory for you to get some time for

yourself and send your husband to a day program. You have no help.

Your husband and his toileting keeps you up on a nightly basis.

You've already told us he is becoming increasingly reliant on you to

be there at all times. The way I see it, you don't have a choice.

He may hate it or he may in time come to look at this as just part of

his routine. You can tell him whatever it takes for him to perhaps

be more comfortable with your decision but you must make some time

for yourself before you spontaneously combust. You cannot keep this

pace under these circumstances for very long. Of course you become

frustrated - you are only mortal in spite of the fact that this

illness demands superhuman diligence, love and strength.

Please give yourself a break. Like many others on this site do I'm

sure, I worry about you any time I read posts like the one I just did

wherein you sound so completely overwhelmed.

I promise you you'll be a better caregiver if you remember yourself

from time to time.

Just my two cents,

Abby

I second everything that Abby has said. You are too important to you

husband to burn out. In order to properly care for him, you must first care

for you.

Dear Jan:

I agree with Abby. You need to get your husband to daycare so you can have

some real rest on a daily basis, preferably.

The reason you loose your patience is SLEEP DEPRIVATION. You cannot be

yourself if you are not getting enough sleep. The day care is necessary so that

both of you can continue to have the life you have now. Yes, you will burn out

without enough sleep. Your body cannot take this pace. Your husband will get

used to this place, just insist on it until he adapts.

Take care, love,

Josie

Thanks for the info on Byetta. Going to see if I can be switched to it. I've

gained weight with the Duetact medication, and any medication that helps with

weight loss will be great.

WAHOO!!! Know this is what you want, so am sure happy for you!

From: Janet <doc_jadeyahoo (DOT) com>Subject: Re: [Hepatitis_C_ Central] my goodbye presentTo: Hepatitis_C_ Central@yahoogro ups.comDate: Friday, September 4, 2009, 2:10 PM

Hon,

There is a number of ways that you can get the virus. Using another persons toothbrush, nail clippers, using his razor.

Plus the ways that the CDC says you can get the virus.

I have been married to the same man for 28 plus years. He does not have the virus, he gets tested every year. We do not use condoms during intimacy. You don't have to worry about getting into a new relationship, you don't have to be a loner. Just your toothbrush is your toothbrush, your nail clippers are yours and so forth. I wouldn't want to share those items anyway. And sharing a razor, no way!!

If you cut yourself and have to clean up a blood spill make sure that you clean it with a bleach solution.

Hope this helps.

Love

Janet

What a Blessing, to have a partner to help you through!

Take care of you..

Love,

Luiz,

I have the same problem going on. And those other problems that you mentioned. LOL

Actually today had lots of muscle aches so much so I spent most of the day in bed.

I am on week 14. I have found that if I keep a been drinking ginger tea and that seems to help in many ways. It helps with the nausea and my throat too. Keep some cough drops available I used them last time and it helped alot. Now I am using sugar free hard candy, I am a diabetic and just watching the sugar levels.

Good Luck Luiz.

Hello everyone, I have started my tx 11 weeks ago, since the 2 week, I have developed cankers (Afta Stomacali) in my throat, sometimes deep inside, went to different doctors (specialists) was given antibiotics, syrups, etc...nothing helped, actually it just made it worse. My liver doctor thinks it is to do with dryness, however I always drink at least 3 litters of water a day and even bought a humidifier to help at night...nothing helped and here I am living with this unsolved problem besides many others that it is not worth mentioning, I guess you all are used to them as well. Anyone could give me information about this issue. Thank you and a happy 2010 to all. Janet, I'm glad to hear you are half way through; you are a trouper. I think of you because I also went thru a trial with the protease inhibitor and I know you're going to have success this time!Just in case you, or anyone else, is interested, here's an easy smoothy recipe that my son gave me. I don't know what I would have done during tx without a smoothie on most days and it was one of the few things that didn't have a horrible flavor to me. 1 C ice1 and 1/3 C apple juice1 heaping spoonful each: mango sorbet, strawberry sorbet1/2 C frozen strawberries1/2 C frozen peachesAdd to blender and blend 'til smooth. You can tweak it by changing the fruits around. I imagine you could add some protein powder. It's easy and when you're on tx, you need easy.Hugs, Leigh Oh yeah know what you are talking about. I lost 10 lbs in one weeks time. Not that I didn't need to lose it. I have a few extra lbs that I can lose just don't like lossing them that way. Yes, it is the Copegus that cause the nausea. Like one of the other member said, ginger tea or ginger ale help alot. I buy diet ginger ale by the 2 liter bottles, usually enough to last till next payday. Do not like to be without my ginger ale. I sip it slowly when I am sick at my stomach. Someone suggested smoothies, Oh that is a great idea. I got one the other day when I was feeling ill at the grocery store. Kept me from being embrassed by throwing up in the store. I just sat down and slowly sipped it. It helped a lot.Soups, broths and noodles are tolerable to me when nothing elses sounds good. Good luck hon, I am half way though 48 weeks. We will come out of this victorious!!LoveJanet>> I started treatment on Friday, March 12. I made it through the flu-like> symptoms. Thanks Leigh,

I think those of us in the clinical trial are the lucky ones because like you I think this is the treatment that is going to work for me.

I am going to try that smoothie recipe.
