Subject: Hello strangersTo: Hepatitis_C_Central Date: Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 1:31 PM i've been away for a long time but wanted to let you all know about my post treatment. i was undetectable at 4 weeks into treatment and undetectable at the conclusion of treatment. all was well 6 months after that. i am due for my 1 year post treatment follow-up and will be doing that very soon. my energy is better than ever and i feel great.i am over the effects of the interferon and ribivarin and my hair has grown back as thick as ever. my appetite is good and i have learned to eat better and to stay hydrated.it was the support i received from this group that kept me going when i felt i couldn't continue. i decided to stop treatment a couple of times but after a day or so i would come back here and read some post and then force myself to take the shot and take the pills.janet told me that most people with my type of hep (hep c, type 2) kinda wandered away after treatment but i never forgot this place.hep is not the main focus of my life anymore. i know they say it could come back but chances are it won't and i'm not going to dwell on it. just wanted to share about life after hep. I was getting discouraged and thinkin about quitting. The fatigue and chronic dizzyness is a pain. I want my old self back. This too shall pass! Don't sweat the 1 year testing. I have been SVR for 5 years now. But I know the feeling every time the draw blood I cringe! So happy life is treating you good. You have a great outlook and the battle is won. It's nice being on the other side of treatment. I went thru 48 weeks of treatment in 2005-2006 and it was a bear to say the least. Still have some side effect that won't go away but the worst is over and life is good. It's a good thing for everyone who is going thru treatment to hear that there are people out here that have been where you are and are done and okay. I would be one of them.
