Mel, I don't know how much it costs as I have only bought it once. Go

see if you can find a root to plant this fall. They should cost about

$2. It likes cool, moist weather. I am able to grow it here, though.

It dies back to the root in the winter. It likes horse sh!t piled on

it in the winter. Okay, organic fertilizer will do, but I think I have

forgotten to do that in years. Ooops. I just remembered you are

renting. Keep it in mind, I think you will love it. I got so hungry

for it after I hadn't had it in years!

That ain't enough sugar, for sure. See my conversation with Jim. OH,

once my neighbor made a sugar-free rhubarb pie for her son who had

diabetes. I about choked eating a peice. She was the sweetest woman

in the world, but I think that was the only food she put in front of me

that I couldn't eat, not even to be polite.

I can't describe the flavor. Sorry. Just don't eat the greens, they

say they are poisonous. Now, that is an old wives tale so I don't know

if it is true, but I don't want to experiment!

I prefer rhubarb with red stems, like Valentine. Oh, it looks like

Swiss Chard. Anyway, it is just looks, the green and red taste the

same.
