Guest guest
My son-in-law has for the pass 2 years been developing a small farm (10 acreas)and has meat rabbits that are in pens (up off the ground) and he feeds them some kind of pellet food which he claims is just dried grass. The other day I cooked one for him and the rest of the family but I didn't eat any, although I used all ingredients that I can have in the recipe. The reason I didn't eat any is because I was thinking that the pellets may have gluten and my eating the rabbit may not be good for me since I am gluten intolerent. Anyway, this rabbit turned out to look and smell very good! The meat just fell off the bone...very tender! Everyone loved it! So what do you guys say, is it okay or not to eat this rabbit? I would think it depends on how sensitive you are - everyone is different. Have you reacted before to meat/milk/eggs from animals that have been fed on gluten grains? Cheers, Tas'. AFAIK though, rabbit pellets are basically alfalfa ... you can check with the company that makes them though, they may contain some grain.
