Guest guest
If I am not mistaken, one of Obama's campaign promises was to try harder to deal with the aftermath of Katrina on account of the poor handling of the disaster by the Bush administration. So much for that. Administrator Shot by an amateur. It looks far worse than anything I've seen on the news. The government had better get busy on this or it is going to be a nightmare very soon. This administration is not inspiring any confidence. Sluggish during the winter storms, ignoring the Tennessee floods and now trying to pretend this spill isn't happening and pushing it off on BP. I'm quite worried about this coming hurricane season, which is predicted to be a busy one. What will be interesting is if one come up through the Gulf while the spill is still out there. Image some of that being pushed up onto shore by the storm surge and winds. That could poison a lot of a land for a very long time. Then again, maybe that is hoped for? Guest guest
When I was in college, there was a fellow who came to our dorm room door who had put in as a candidate for local government. he was a college student who had come from the town in which the college was situated. He didn't seem to know much of anything, and was more interested in what my pothead roommate had to say that what I had to say, probably because I was not registered to vote at that time, and also because I seemed to make him feel stupid when trying to discuss issues with him in an intelligent manner. I do not know whether or not he was ever elected, but adult candidates that come to our door during election season are not much different than that kid was. I get the idea that these people campaign on popularity, believing they will get advisers in to help them make tough decisions on critical issues where they have little or no knowledge. Administrator I fear lots of terrible legislation is going to come from this because what we have in DC across the board are people who know how to lie, cheat and steal to get power, but have absolutely no idea how to do anything that doesn't involve self-serving corruption.
