When any of us are sick, I take the chicken stock and use it plain if we're

feeling nauseas. If no nausea, then I'll either add back in the veggies used to

make the stock, or add in carrots, onions, garlic, zucchini and maybe some

mushrooms and red pepper, usually whatever I have at home.

Also, ginger tea is good for viral illnesses. I use the recipe in NT - boiling

water, chopped/grated ginger and honey to taste.

Common cold cures again!

So, my hubby is coming down with a cold. I'm going to dose him up on

vit C and zinc. Also I have garlic so he can eat a few cloves raw.

I don't have hydrogen peroxide.

As for chicken broth - is this the chicken stock recipe in NT? I

have some in the freezer, but to be honest, I wouldn't want to eat it

as is. It needs something adding. Possibly some more veg. Can

anyone clarify what exactly he should be eating for hte cold - the

soup or stock?

Thanks

Jo

I am so happy and thankful to everyone who shared their cold cures with me! On

Tuesday afternoon I realized that I was coming down with a cold--watery, itchy

eyes,

runny nose, body aches and general tiredness--and I followed most of the

recommendations that people posted here. As soon as I got home I ate two raw

garlic

cloves, a cup of organic echinacea tea, put three drops of hydrogen peroxide

into

each ear and went to bed. When I woke up I was feeling a-ok! I mean, not a drip

out

of my nose, not a bit of tiredness. I don't know whether it was one specific

thing or a

combination of all, but I feel great! So thanks everyone, and long live natural

solutions! :)

This may sound kind of nasty but we have used it with good results.

Grate 1 clove of garlic and 1 piece of fresh ginger about an equal size as

the garlic. Add the juice of 1/2 of a fresh lemon and hot water to make a

cup. Use enough honey to make it palatable.

Drink this every few hours until symptoms do not return. It really helps the

scratchy throat and keeps the nasal passages open,

Beth
