Guest guest
I was reading some of the letters about what to eat and weight regain and thought I would throw my two cents in. I hit my 5 year mark in December. I started at 380 lbs and my all time low was 158. For the last few years I have maintained a weight level of about 165 lbs. I have always gone up and down 2-3 lbs, but without any effort. I was a good little exercise bunny in the beginning, but really slacked off in the last couple of years. I eat whatever I want, but I do try to keep it healthy. I try to get my protein in first, particularly at breakfast. My husband goes a little nuts because I eat eggs almost every morning. I just don't feel good if I don't start my day with protein. I did fall back into bad habits within the last 3 months......sodas and coffee (which I have to use a lot of cream and sugar with) and comfort foods. So my weight that had been level rocketed up 18 lbs in 3 months. So, now I am off sodas and have limited myself to one coffee a week. I am also trying to be more conscious of any cheap carb snacking I might do. I am back to stashing raw almonds in my desk and yogurt in the fridge. In just the two weeks that I have made this change I have already lost 6 of those 18 lbs. I am confident that just by getting back to more water and less dependency on caffeine related drinks that I will easily drop the rest. I am sure that I could drop more weight if I wanted to get regular with exercise again. It has been a cold, wet winter in Washington, so my bad knee has been achy. I am getting a little bit of walking done, but will start doing more as the weather is drier and slowly build up that leg and the rest of me. My goal for 2006? I want to get down to at least 150. Not a huge goal. Totally reachable. Completely within my power. I still get people who ask me if I would do it again. Duh! Congratulations to all of you out there who are workin' it! in WA
