Guest guest
It sure affected my viral load and there was no other discernable cause at the time. We were visiting 2 different hospitals on a daily basis and I had been using it very often. OTC meds can also cause your viral load to go up, as well as many prescription drugs. Best to research all.. The alcohol in hand sanitizer is bad for us??? ..
Guest guest
I use alcohol sanitizer at work all the time. I am a flight attendant. We aren't allowed to wear gloves when picking up trash from others. I use the sanitizer when the bathrooms are occupied and I can't wash my hands immediately. Great. Now what do I do? That keeps me from getting sick. I took out a huge life insurance policy after 9-11. They sent a nurse to my house to do urine, blood, medical life history, etc. I found the policy along with the blood and urine results. They tested for Hepatitis antibodies and AIDS amongst other things. This was in November 2001. I know I did not have Hepatitis then. I feel strongly that I contracted either from my husband (he had affairs) or work. I don't have the risk factors that I have read about. I guess in the scheme of things it does not matter how I got it. It just matters that I have it. Liver Biopsy is Friday Jan 22. I go back to doctor for results on Jan. 28. Wish me luck. Guest guest
Hi Deborah, How often is "all the time"? I was using it several times a day, 7 days a week. I think that makes a difference. Not to worry, one thing at a time.. All the best to you with your biopsy, hon.. Keep us posted! Hugs, Sheena I use alcohol sanitizer at work all the time. I am a flight attendant. Guest guest
Good luck on the Liver Biopsy, At least you found out EARLY that you have Hepatitis. I think the earlier you find out, the better your chances for getting cured. Has your husband been tested? If you think you got it from him, he should get tested, so he also can get treatment. Guest guest
I used to keep some baby wipes in a plastic bag in my pocket at work, I don't like the hand sanitizers because of the smell. I know they say its possible to get HCV from sexual relations but I know absolutely NO ONE who has gotten it that way. Remember, it has to be blood to blood contact and getting it during sex would mean he would have to be bleeding and so would you. Its not spread by semen,, but by blood only. Sometimes we never know how we got it but when you work with the public like you do , you will have an increased tendency to be at risk for it. Its very likely that someone on one of the flights has microscopic blood on something that you touched and you may have had a small open wound that you didnt even see and their blood got into your blood. You are really lucky tho that you got that policy before you got diagnosed.. now it would be nearly impossible to find a company that would insure you let alone would it be at a cost that anyone could pay. As long as you can wash your hands with soap and water, you really dont need the hand sanitizer, I keep it in my car and only use it when I cannot find a place to wash my hands if I am out. Perhaps you could get some sprayable colloidal silver and just spray your hands with that in those rare times that you cannot get to soap and water? Just an idea... hugs, jax From: Deborah <deborahsavon@ gmail.com>To: Hepatitis_C_ Central@yahoogro ups.comSent: Sun, January 17, 2010 4:30:34 PMSubject: [Hepatitis_C_ Central] Viral Load I use alcohol sanitizer at work all the time.
