McCarthy and Jim Carrey announced their breakup today via Twitter. The

couple of 5 years announced their breakup in Tweets on their Twitter feeds. The

McCarthy Jim Carrey breakup was amicable.

Just weeks ago McCarthy was gushing about being a girlfriend to Grandpa

Carrey and his grandchildren calling her 'Grandma.'

I'm a little suprised about this. I'm also concerned about if it will affect

McCarthy's son who is autistic. Plus, Jim Carrey has been so outspoken

about Autism with McCarthy, and I wonder if he will keep up his

involvement in the cause of Autism awareness.

I feel badly for her son Evan in all this. I remember Carrey talking about Evan

on Oprah a while ago, and how long it took the little boy to warm up to Jim

Carrey. This change is going to be tough for him.
