Hi Sharon,

I apologize for my rude reply to your post. It was not kind of me to do

that. I'm sorry.

Actually, I was raised in a very similar way to you, minus the velveeta.

My mom remembered my Grandma baking sour dough bread when she was a

young child but my mom did not do that for us. And like you I also have

a poor immune system. One of the things that has helped it is

implementing a few of the ideas from Nourishing Traditions. Raw milk,

fermented sour krouts, and the Desem bread (or at least whole grain

breads- we use Kamut mostly.)

Practically anything can be a carcinogen and I have ceased to worry

about that. We try instead to eat as close to nature as possible and

everything else in moderation.
