Guest guest
She is in good shape, is still full of herself, doesn’t let anyone push her around. She is not puffy anywhere else. She is a small cow, island style jersey. The udder does not feel like edema. It is not tight, not warm, and seems to be slowly getting softer, but her production is not what we have always gotten. www.majestyfarm.com Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it. Sounds just like one of the older cows at the dairy when she was about same age and calved for the last time. Wear and tear, gravity, takes it toll. What causes pitting edema (not caused by any pathogen, not matitis)is where the veinous system can't return what the arterial system has put there. Other things that can cause it are congestive heart failure and parasite overload. With either one, fluids will gather at lower points of body. When I get a chance later I'll upload a file on udder edema.
