Guest guest
Oh, believe me I have been there done that. Don't be afraid to tell your doctor, Look say that in language that I can understand. Don't let them brush you off. Tell him I am having pain in my side, and describe your pain. Let him know that you are a advocate in your own medical care and that you need to know everything. To have him just poo poo your questions is demeaning and undeserved. Remember you are paying him for his services. Too many times Doctors think they are doing us a favor by seeing us. Well without us they wouldn't have a job. I have stopped a doctor mid sentence and told them wait just a minute. You need to listen to what I am saying. My husband just sat there wide eyed because he knows me and knows that I have a temper and I was fixin' to throw down. LOL When you see the infectious disease doctor go in with a list of question you have. List the pain you are having, have him explain your viral load and what it means in treatment. I am sure others in this group will help add questions to your list for your doctor. Hope this helps hon. I was diagnosed back in November of last year and I was sent to a GI doctor. as these months have gone by I have had my gallbladder out thinking that was why I was in pain and I do feel that the doctor has done me wrong in many ways. First when I went to him I asked him to explain this disease to me I was a nervous wreck as im sure most of you were when you all found out.He did my bloodwork but didnt tell me my results all he said was I was fine. Then he did a biopsy and he said my liver looked better than his.not sure what that meant. As I continue to feel awful I went to my regular doctor thinking maybe she could give me some answers and nothing came of that either so I decided to change regular doctors and he did bloodwork and my Viral load came back and its at over 6 million and the doctor said it was high so I wonder what else wasnt being told to me about what was going on with my body.I do have some good days but it doesnt seem like many these days so I know something has got to be wrong. My body just keeps telling me that there is.ok so now the new doctor is going to send me to an infectious disease doctor. I have researched online but you dont know if its true information or not.I have had pains in my right side and I cant seem to get any answers to why I am having these pains.I have tenderness in my right side front & back. I havent got to go to the infectious disease doctor as of yet and im hoping he can give me some answers. My regular doctor is wondering why the GI doctor didnt put me on the treatment for my hep-c.I have been reading the post from this group and hearing & reading some horror stories from this disease and it scares me to start treatment but I also want to start feeling better so what do I do? Guest guest
Hi. This week is my 5th dose of treatment...it is interesting that near the next up coming doses I get headaches not after the shot but before the next one is due. I have been feeling more tired lately but my hemoglobin is still in an ok range. I don't want to know what if feels like when it is LOW.....which I know is comming soon...because every week it keeps going down. Anyway this week I get a vial load check! Good luck to everyone and a prayer goes out to you all.
