Guest guest
Has anyone tried either of these and seen an improvement in their anxiety. I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks and would love to know. Autumnsea_girl111 wrote: Some vitamins also can help banish anxious feelings. Inositol and niacinamide are two that seem to be especially effective. Inositol, found naturally in nuts, beans, wheat and cantaloupe, is part of the vitamin B complex and is one reason many nutritionists recommend boosting B vitamin intake for anxiety and stress. Inositol works by affecting nerve transmission and can help reduce panic attacks and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). In one clinical trial of 20 patients suffering from panic disorder, Israeli scientists found that inositol reduced the frequency of attacks better than the pharmaceutical drug fluvoxamine — and with far fewer side effects. Inositol (1,800 mg a day) also has been shown in a double-blind trial to be effective at relieving the symptoms of OCD.The other noteworthy anxiety-reducing vitamin, niacinamide, is found in brewer's yeast, broccoli, eggs, fish and beef liver. Animal studies show that niacinamide has the same effect on the brain as tranquilizers used in conventional medicine. And according to , M.D., inositol can enhance the effects of niacinamide, so the two nutrients should be taken together. Niacinamide is almost always safe to take, though rare liver problems have occurred at amounts in excess of 1,000 mg daily. http://tinyurl.com/5mkmtuAlana--- In asthma , "Theresa" wrote:>>> for anxiety issues. > I am kind of a type A OCD person for the most part so
Guest guest
Hi Autumn, Yes, they have helped me in the past. Also, magnesium and calcium. Hope you are well, Alana > > Has anyone tried either of these and seen an improvement in their anxiety. Guest guest
First take a deep breath and know that we are with you every step of this. Good thing to start taking your anti-depressants before starting treatment. Important things for you to have before treatment. Get you a nice bottle that you can carry your water around in. To be eco-friendly alot of folks are using the reusable bottles. I have several that I use and then wash in the dishwasher. Remember to drink plenty of water. That is very important during treatment. It helps in many ways. It helps lessen the side effects you get with treatment. I noticed that when I forgot to drink my water, I felt so much worse than when I was getting the amount of water that I needed. If you can't stand just plain water, jazz it up a bit with crystal lite or similar products. A squeeze of lemon, or even orange slice will make it more palatable. Try to maintain a healthy diet, plenty of vegetables, protein and some good whole grain bread and or cereals. Always take your meds with a little protein as it helps it work a bit better. Some peanut butter and crackers were my favorite. But others have found some things that suited their fancy better. I am sure you will get a list of things to use when you take your pills. Some folks lose their appetite when on treatment. Just make sure that you try to have something every day. We can suggest all kinds of stuff to help you get your nutrution. Talk to your doctor about what kind of pain, and fever medication that he wants you to take. Read labels, a lot of medicines contain tylenol so you have to add those to your consumtion of your daily dose of tylenol. Power nap if you can, it will help greatly on those right after shot days. A 30 min nap can work wonders. If friends and family offer to help, Let them. Especially on the after the shot days. You don't have to entertain them, just let them do their thing. A thought if you can afford it have a cleaning service come in before treatment and do a deep clean for you. I did that last time I did treatment and it was easier for me to keep my house clean because they did the hard work first. Then all I had to do was the upkeep. Exercise, yeah thats right exercise. Nothing big, you don't have to start training. But simple stuff, walk around the block, take your dogs, kids, hubby, neighbor for a walk. My famous way of getting exercise is parking way,way out in the parking lot of my favorite store. It has so many advantages, a little exercise, and you don't have to fight the person next to you for space. LOL You got all the space you need, and no door dings. Enjoy life, this is the time you have to be a little selfish, think about you. I found that if I put fresh, crisp clean sheets on my bed before the shot, I slept better. Comfy pj's. Also I listened to soothing music when I felt really bad. It calmed me and a calm spirit makes treatment go so much better. Keep stress to a minimium. You don't need it, let someone else handle it. This is your time to get well. I am sure everyone will give you hints along the way.
