Guest guest
ok. for clarification: are you saying we can't absorb toxins through our skin? because that is the way your post sounded. =-) ro Re: Iodine Yep, your outer layer of skin (and the skin of other critters) is for all purposes 'dead' tissue. Skin grows from bottom outward and the outer surfaces don't have a blood supply so nothing gets 'absorbed' to amount to anything. That's one of the reasons you don't leak all over the place and it's also why stuff like dirt, bacteria, virus, and fungus can't get into your body easy either. That's why the need for special 'carrier' agents whenever there is a need for skin to absorb, like with the patch dosage systems. The iodide you refer to is indeed a biologically available formula. Years ago, before the addition of a standardized dose of iodide to salt it was much prescribed for goiters. Here where I live had a well known high incidence of iodide deficiency until the advent of iodized salt. We are on an ancient limestone seabed adn quite deficient in iodide. Being so far inland, we didn't get any salt water fish to eat either. If animals are getting a good name brand loose mineral mix 24/7/365 then they are going to be well supplied with iodide. With humans, if iodized salt is used in cooking and flavoring foods, then you should be well supplied, too. DonnaSafehaven NubiansDandridge, TN> >> > TV--I think I get my share of iodine. Guest guest
I beg to disagree with this idea of yours Donna. Yes skin is dead but if things were not absorbed through them there would be no pour-on wormers for one. Your skin is porous, so is an egg and it doesn't leak all over the place, so I see no reason that we do not absorb through it. Heck the doctor tells people to bath in Epsom salts to help with Magnesium levels. Guest guest
I've heard that your skin is your largest organ, and isn't most of it actually alive except for just the outer few layers of cells? It has a blood supply and nerves and all that. Just my thoughts, Sally (not Fallon) Thank you for the post. i was sitting here perplexed and a little confused. Sally Fallon supports the use of a whole house charcoal water filtration system (correct me if i am wrong -nicely please =-) ) because your skin is your largest organ. yes it is dead but it is still porous. Jerry Brunetti has said something like this too i believe. Plus in hs science this is what is taught also. ro
Guest guest
Your right Sally (not Fallon) only the stuff that flakes off is dead. Debbie ChikouskyManitoba, Canadagdchik@...http://www.winnipegbeach.com/chikouskyfarms/
