Guest guest
> > Hi Deb, > > Glad to see you are doing so well. You already looked great in Las > Vegas! My hair is still falling out too. Hi Juls! Thanks for the nice words....you look great too, and SOOO cute! And, it seems our " hairy story " is very similar; the hair just keeps falling out. I can easily see my scalp from all angles plus the hair I have left is simply washed out and " old " looking. I have yet to cut my hair short especially after you told me what your hairdresser said....something like " now it is long and falling out, you will really hate it if you cut it then you will have short hair that is falling out " . But, just like you, I am tempted every day to JUST CUT IT and be done with it. Can you see new growth? Some days I " think " I see new growth and have been comforted with that, but just yesterday I asked my husband to take a closer look and he said he could not see any new growth at all. I am really freakin' out over this. When I see my reflection in a mirror or even a window I do a double-take, not because of the weight loss but because my hair looks horrible. I will see Dr. K in Las Vegas again for my 6 month check-up and lab results in Feb. When do you see him again? Later....Deb Grieving for my lost hair.......Darn. Guest guest
> Later....Deb > Grieving for my lost hair.......Darn. =========================== To the newbies: Ya know we can tell you.. " it happened to us " ...we can say " it will get better " . You can take some comfort in knowing your not the only person it the world it has happened to....But....while it is happening to YOU, it isn't fun, it IS scary, it is YOUR experience and process that you have to go through. Isn't it great that we have a place to come to where by sharing our experiences we are helping ourselves by getting advice and just expressing our woes. AND we are helping those that follow by giving them a peak at what they may experience along the way. Ahhh...I feel a group hug coming...come on squeeze in here, now all together....HUGS Jo
Guest guest
Hi Deb, Well, I got my hair cut today. I couldn't stand how stringy it looked even though it was quite long. Boy did I make a mistake! I absolutely hate it. My regular hairdresser wasn't in, and I just couldn't stand it anymore, so I went with someone new. Yikes! Shorter hair isn't the same when it's so thin, than when I've had it shorter in the past. It's at about my shoulders, but let me tell you, I just want to cry. Don't be in a rush, just trim it an inch, not five or six like me. I probably won't be going back to see Dr. K until my year check-up in May. So again we miss having dinner together! Guest guest
Juls Ahhh...sorry you hate your new hair cut. I bet it's cute, its just new to you and your partly greiving over the loss of your old hair...consider this all a part of the roller coaster ride to the new and improved you. Your looks are going through dramatic changes, it takes time for YOU to adjust to it. You are going to have to experiment with different looks...in hair, makeup, cloths...to find the best new and improved you. It's a process, but you will get there....lol...and hair does grow! I do think you gave some good advice. Because your body and face are already going through rapid changes, it may be wise to make small changes at a time to your hair. That way it's easier to Adjust to the new look. Hugs Jo
