I can't imagine giving up our dishwasher. We have never experienced any

kind of residue or gunk in it. Some tips to help with your dishwasher

are to make sure you have hot water going in before you start it, like

run the faucet in the kitchen sink for 30 sec if you don't have a

continuous circulation system in your house. This will mean your

dishwasher will fill with hot water rather than cold. The lower end

dishwashers on the market don't do a good job of cleaning anyway so why

hinder them with trying to use their marginal at best heating abilities.

Also, if you can afford it, get one with a stainless interior. The

painted and plastic linings will pit over time and allow " gunk " to get a

foothold.

Personally, I have a Bosch and have never had cleaner dishes with an

appliance that is so quiet they now make it with a small laser that

shines on the floor so you can tell it is running so you don't open the

door and get all wet. If you want to see a review, check out <a

I wash my milk bottles in it right after we are done with the milk and

they come out like they are new.

My three cents on the subject.
