Maybe. The difference is that both nations already have nukes and aren't necessarily deterred about a nuclear war. These are also peoples that have had relations for thousands of years and not always friendly ones. China's moves could be as they say, but then again maybe not. I've read some theories that they are buying up land and resources in Africa in order to colonize those places with their excess population. Not sure how true that might be though.
