Hi Jen. I don't remember the name of the raw book, but there's a couple of

good raw transition books on the market now. How to incorporate raw into

your diet to ease in rather than just one day say " today I am going raw

--because if you haven't been raw, it's very difficult to do. You will

start craving regular food, but if you take a few months to switch over

gradually you will be much more likely to stay on raw for the couple of

years.

And don't look at it like a life sentence. You may just love it and decide

to stay raw. Raw gives you much energy, is fairly easy to do, tastes great.

You will need a good juicer, a good blender, a food processor makes things

easier, and you will need a food dehydrator. The dehydrator makes it simple

to make " breads " , crackers, cookies, pie crusts. Yes--these are all raw,

without sugar or flour.

There are many excellent books on raw recipes too. Many, now. A few years

ago there were perhaps 2 or 3. Now there are over a dozen. Any good

bookstore should carry them, or at least a few of them.

If you have cable TV, or satellite TV, there's a station called Veria. On

our satellite, which is dish network, it is 9575 channel. On that station

there's a show called the Sweet Truth. It's a woman who loves sweets, but

because of health reasons had to give it all up. She's not totally raw, but

has many, many raw recipes, and a cook book out on making foods without

dairy, gluten, sugar. I watch her all the time and she has some great

recipes, most of them are raw and they all look tasty. I want to get her

book, and I believe her book is also called The Sweet Truth. Yes, I just

googled it and that's the name.

There are a number of good web sites. I can't remember the name of

Wolf's web site, but Google him and you'll find it. There are a lot of free

recipes there. You can even buy weekly lessons on going raw from various

sites. You just have to read a few sites to determine which one best fits

your needs. Raw is VERY popular today. You have many choices.

Good luck.

Seek raw food/juicing support groups/wesites/books ??

Due to my rapid deteriating health from lyme & mycoplasma fermentans, I have

determined to change the diet part of my lifestyle to raw food & juicing. Based

on initial reseach, I figure that it may take 2-4 years for me to get well even

if I'm on raw food/jucing diet 100%, I better start right the way. I feel like

as if I were waiting for sentencing from a judge, while waiting, I better start

going to jail to serve so that I can get out of jail sooner......

Anyway, please recommend any good books/websites/support groups to join so

Now your talken Jen. I think this is what you need to do to help you

towards getting to feel better. I just knew you were not eating right

and you need to juice or you wouldn't feel so near death all the time

even with those diseases. If that body enhancer thing works for me it

will work for you as well so will keep you posted on this. I have

pretty good hopes for it BECAUSE I have several devices now that work on

the same principles individually but are not combined or strong enough

or designed to do the entire body but they DO HELP.

Just curious, do you have a regular physician and has he tried

antibiotics on you? Do you also have a fungal condition? What is

your financial condition as far as getting the items and help that you

need? You can write me privately if you like at ectopistes@...

I feel bad for you because I can really relate as to just how it feels

to be inches from death over a long period of time. It is a horrible

way to live but you can get better. It does take some money though.

The thing that made me better the fastest was getting proper blood work

done to find out my deficiencies. As soon as I corrected them with

vitamins, minerals and proper nutrition with juicing, I am now living

much more normally and don't feel like I am going to die any minute like

I did before. I really want to encourage you to do this because it

will make a huge difference for you in how you feel. you will need more

for a cure though than diet, but the diet is essential first.

, a low arginine diet may contribute to your deteriorating

health. I'm aware that your mycoplasma group is recommending this

particular deficiency as part of their proposed cure, yet arginine is

needed for immune system health and regeneration in general.

Undenatured whey is most often used in regeneration, and it's

especially good for immune system health; it contains arginine,

ornithine, lysine, glutamine, glycine, which are the main

regeneration amino acids. SomaLife gHP is specifically formulated for

regeneration; it too contains arginine. Similarly, many of the most

beneficial foods are in fact high in arginine.

Regeneration is the opposite of the degeneration you are currently

experiencing so I thought this would interest you. I'm thinking your

diet might be contributing to your degeneration and low immune

response, and that I smell a myth that " no arginine " might be a

useful treatment. How about increasing your immune system activity

rather than undermining it? I would suggest 4Life Transfer Factor

because it increases immune response but importantly, may confer

specific immunity to Lyme as well, because the cows have probably

been exposed to it (and to West Nile) and thus will have antibodies

in their milk. Same with the chickens, the other Transfer Factor

donors.

I'd love to help you out of your jackpot but whey and meat, another

arginine-rich food, would in that case figure prominently in your

cure, not on your list of " avoids " .

All the best, and good luck with it.

Yes, Step.  I relunctantly started antibiotics about 8 weeks ago.  I have also

been on vitamin/mineral/amino acids for 3 months.  Money is very tight and I

need to figure out to raise some money for my upcoming medical billls.

Jen,

I agree with that it's pretty unrealistic to expect that you can

successfully go 100% raw overnight. Not only is it really hard to do

on a practical level, but even if you were able to go completely raw

for any length of time, you'd probably encounter such extreme healing

crises that you'd be knocked for a loop.

No need either to look at shifting your diet for the better as a jail

sentence that you start now as punishment while you're unwell and that

you 'get out of' later when you're well. Maybe it would be better to

think in terms of making healthier choices now that will become

lifelong habits indefinitely?

In any event, below are a few links to some great resources for

learning about raw foods. And just remember, you don't necessarily

have to be a total raw foodist to enjoy the benefits of eating raw

foods. Just by increasing the amounts of fresh raw foods you eat and

decreasing the amounts of highly processed stuff you consume, you'll

be making healthful and beneficial improvements to your diet.

Here are a couple of Wolfe's sites:

http://www.sunfood.com/MyPages/Sunfood-articles.aspx

You can also do a search on Wolfe on YouTube. There are a bunch

of videos of him giving talks on all sorts of subjects related to raw

foods and natural nutrition.
