Guest guest
Since you are inviting such things...will you kindly remind me about the plastic " accoutrement " which will comprise my temporary (we hope) input/output ports post-op...and how long they are generally in place. Guest guest
Sue, your drains will stay in about a week. Be sure to take some vidodin just before your appointment to have them pulled, just in case! Sometimes there is pain when they are pulled, sometimes not. No way to predict which group you will be in. Guest guest
, You look perfect! Don't worry about tolerating things, that slowly changes. I still can get loose from high-fat icecream, but haven't been eating it for a couple months, for some reason. Marta DS 4/3/2 rebound 10% of lost weight, size six now BMI 27 now. > Hi All, > > I am 16 months out and I am down to 143 from 253. I am in a size 8 now. Guest guest
Are we talking J/P drains? I have a lot of experience with them...or are there other petrochemical delights in my future as well? > > > > Since you are inviting such things...will you kindly remind me about > > the plastic " accoutrement " which will comprise my temporary (we hope) > > input/output ports post-op...and how long they are generally in > place. >

Guest guest
, You are doing great ! Do not give up on ice cream. I can eat ice cream now at 28 months out. I think I was close to two years before I could eat it again....eating some right now I did not find only the good full fat ice cream is tolerable. The low fat stuff goes right thru me ! Maybe that is TMI..LOL Ginger <>< > > Hi All, > > I am 16 months out and I am down to 143 from 253. I am in a size 8 now. I just wanted to comment on the fact that I am very pleased with not only the amount of food I get to eat but the variety of foods I can eat. I sometimes forget that I have had the surgery because most of the time I eat and don't feel full. On occasion I want to be able to drink a diet coke with my meal and my stomach is still too small to do both but that will eventually change too. The only thing that I wish I could eat is ice cream once in a while but that is absolutely out of the question. Anyhow, giving up ice cream is just a small price to pay for all the benefits I have gotten from this surgery. I am a new person and I love the way I look and feel. I posted an updated picture of me on the site for any one who wants to see my transformation Take care all. > > > > -- > Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirthis heaviness. Guest guest
Alrighty then...if you're already doing that short-term memory loss thing...maybe I will believe you're over 28. But not much over it! > > Maybe I blanked that out! lol > > Marta > red-faced! > > > > Not even with chocolate, caramel and whipped cream on it? > > >
Guest guest
I always find it strange but a little funny how totally different was all are! I was lactose intolerant BEFORE the ds. One bite of ice cream or sip of milk was enough to bloat me like a toad and then send me running for a toilet where I would stay for hours! AFTER the ds, I can eat ice cream, drink milk, and enjoy all the foods I avoided for so long. I was scared at first to try them, but with a post-op diet it was hard to totally avoid milk products so I took my chances and blessedly found that I am able to handle them easily. I have to have full-fat - full sugar REAL ice cream though! Anything artificial and I may as well eat it while sitting on the toilet because that is where I will be spending my evening anyway! I adore Rocky Road with double or triple nuts from Stone Cold Creamery! LOL, I figure the triple nuts (protein) has got to offset the fat at least a LITTLE! HUGS ALL! Cindee (who does NOT miss Lactiad one bit!) > > > > Hi All, > > > > I am 16 months out and I am down to 143 from 253. I am in a size 8 > now.
