And we wont be swimming with any sharks! I may not be 347 lbs anymore, but I am still meaty enough to be a shark smorgesborg! No sharks for me..... Now whales, that is a different story, It would be incredible to be in the water next to one of those huge wonderful creatures! Sharon in Onyx who saw Jaws one to many times, read the book, and believes it to be true enough to stay out of the water for years.... Guest guest
By the way, you are all invited to stay with us!! Not sure if we will be living back on the Gold Coast though..we have had a rather interesting (and lucrative) job offer in a remote part of Australia and may head there. Sorry to disappoint you Sharon, but they allow whale watching from boats but I have a feeling snorkeling is banned due to conservation concerns (they don't want people interfering or disturbing protected wildlife). You can snorkel your heart out on the Great Barrier Reef though!!! Hugs Kris

Guest guest
Ummm..remote doesn't exactly mean outback Marta! I am talking about Tasmania. An island at the southern tip of Australia (ie. Close to Antarctica). It gets down to 5c in winter.which is too cold for me. wants to go - the money may make the weather more bearable!! _____ From: DS_Friends_Keshishian [mailto:DS_Friends_Keshishian ] On Behalf Of Marta S. They allow you to snorkle with the whales and even have daily excursions. For some reason, I thought they did the same off the coast of Australia. sigh. I am still coming to visit tho- You can snorkel your heart out on the Great Barrier Reef though!!! Hugs > Kris ************************************** Arent there a lot of sharks there? Hugs back atcha, Sharon in Onyx aka - shark smorghesborg.....

Sounds way to cold for me too.....Money wont make you warmer, parkas do. Wearing all that heavy fur.... What temp in the summer? All the national geographic specials make it look beautiful tho= And then there is the tasmanian devil, and such...Maybe a visit is called for- but only in the summer.... Sharon in Onyx who cries when she gets to cold...dont know why, I always have... it is a weird physical reaction to shivering and freezing... Guest guest
Hi Sharon! YOU TOO?! I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I think we cry because, dammit, being cold HURTS! Don't let anyone tell you that freezing to death is a peaceful way to go. Bull crap! It's the freakin' worst feeling in the world!! Wow. Was that me? I guess that's been all bundled up for awhile. Anyway, I feel better now, knowing that I'm not alone. Love you, Tracey Your sister in " frozen sobbing " > Sharon in Onyx > who cries when she gets to cold...dont know why, I always have... > it is a weird physical reaction to shivering and freezing... I never knew anyone but me that did it....It is a very strange thing and I have never met or known of anyone else that cried when they were cold. I think it is our bodys way of warming us up. The shivers, and teeth chattering are not enough. We have to cry too. It is like natures way of making sure we live thru an ice age. Just like our obesity was natures way of making sure we lived thru a famine! We are survivors! lol I prefer having surgery and not being obese, and living in a warm climate and not freezing tho= Just my opinion. lol Love you Sharon in Onyx
