Guest guest
We are a small farmer that provides raw milk for a group of people. We are not a cow share we are a Private Club. We do not feed our cows any soy or animal by products. People are saying they need to be on grass, I agree 100% BUT when you are in a draught as we have been for two years "where's the grass" you feed hay (trucked in) and feed. My load of hay that is coming in this Sunday is coming from Ohio. I live in Texas. YET people want their milk for 5.00 a gallon and it is 1/3 to 1/2 cream.... My husband and I have decided to really look the books over first of the year and the best, sweetest, Jersey milk you will ever find just might be out of business. My dad raised cows and beef on corn (he grew) and grass. I don't have anything wrong with me and I am 68...Guess it was that good country living. I will take corn fed beef over grass fed any day, Ask me if I can tell a difference, You bet I can, There are so many things written on both sides of the fence that needs to be tossed out and find a sensible middle of the road food plan...Ina
