Guest guest
Hiya Mel Like you I am procrastinating. I have emptied all the boxes bar one and packed all the kitchen away. The guys come back on Monday to fit the glass splashbacks and the two glass doors and then its all finished... phew. I think I have 7 more grey hairs since yesterday morning. The Tupperware cupboard has been a major stumbling block. I am a perfectionist when putting these things in and its been hard not to just shove the lot in the cupboard and shut the door quick smart. I am hungry this weekend and I am thinking about this slice that I used to make years ago that had golliwog biscuits, cream and Tia ... anyone know of it? I am craving a bit of that right now and fancy making it.
Guest guest
I used to make a similar brandy log with ginger snap biscuits and brandy cream... simple and delish. I do remember someone making one at a BBQ once a gazillion years ago with choccy biccies and chocolate alcoholic cream... must be the same as yours. God.. the kitchen is a job and a half isn't it. I need to unpack mine and repack it... but I keep hoping the kitchen fairy might come along and do it for me I also have the added problem now that the butlers pantry is not going in until February - after promising that I would have it pre Christmas. The laundry design has not been completed and this also needs to be done before Christmas - why oh why did I ever believe their promises... bugger! They now have my deposit, and I have a garage full of appliances until February. I am glad that the kitchen is done for you before Chrissy - that is great. Guest guest
Mel I dont know what it is about tradesmen - honestly this kitchen has taken longer than the 2 weeks that it was slated to be. I mean we are still waiting for the splashbacks, so we cant get the power put on properly until that is in, so we dont have an oven still - just the cook top. At least its not like a couple of weeks ago with no power and gas, that was a nightmare. There is no kitchen fairy - trust me I tried to put it off hoping that one would appear here but it never showed its head. Having said that tho it has been quite therapeutic doing this kitchen so far. I just cant wait to have it finished so I the benches can be cleaned down properly and know they will stay that way. Cherie will be heading home tomorrow - yikes! I cant believe it has been a week already.
