Guest guest
My name is Annette. My daughter is 7 and will be 8 in Feb. She is autistic. We didn't find out what was really wrong until the first day of school. We knew she was different but our dr group didn't have a clue. Our ins wouldn't help us either- we are hoping to change this coming year to get a official assessment. Alissa didn't talk- so first we thought she might have been deaf. Nope! Her school did an amazing job with a fast assessment & development of a plan for her. She went into regular special education while they placed her on a list for the Lasso program. Now she is a blabber! Speech is coming faster than the wind for her. I can say I am amazed at how far she has come- and only in second grade! They thought she also had ADHD but her attention span is increasing like her vocabulary! We took her last week to see Alvin & the Chipmonks- while she bounced a bit- so did all the other kids in the theater- but she loved it- at one time no way would she ever have made it through!! I look forward to getting to know you all in this group- feel free to ask any questions- I love to chat but this is my first group!! thanks and god bless & merry christmas all Annette
