Mirtazapine generic for remeron

Have any of your kids ever takem mirtazapine? My10 yr old daughter just took her

first dose and I have been sitting here worrying ever since(I have ocd also

Did your kids have any strange side effects? My daughter has an obsession about

what if she wanted to commit sucide. We have determimed.that she wants to live

but I am afraid it will increase. Thank u

I looked it up because wasn't sure what it was.

Did the doc give it to her because they were worried she was suicidal? Or to

help stop the " intrusive thoughts " of worry about wanting to commit suicide?

SSRI antidepressants are usually used for OCD, due to the serotonin factor. Has

she tried any of the SSRIs before?

If it's only an OCD thought, it could increase if not treated with the right med

and some CBT/ERP. (Don't mean to make it sound like I'm minimizing the

importance by saying " only " . . Just mean it's an OCD thought, not a reality. .

..But, OCD thoughts can be horrible too).

If that medication doesn't help, you might talk to the doc about trying an SSRI

antidepressant.

Is she seeing a therapist to help her navigate through some CBT/ERP to use on

the thought?
