Guest guest
Saw our doctor today. He thinks that has OCD and a mood disorder and that he is somewhere on the autistic spectrum. Now that his moods are somewhat stabilized, he is going to start a very low dose of Prozac and Buspar. Our past history with Prozac was initially good, then bad (in the spring when his mood destabilized?). He said that Buspar treats the anxiety without destabilizing mood and that it lessesns irritability - it also affects the release of oxytocin which has been shown to improve social functioning - both social anxiety and even social interpretation. It'll be interesting to see results. He said that once is functioning better, we'll try to get rid of some of his other meds. He said he has 2 clients who went to recently and are doing well. He thinks it's worthwhile for us to look into it because the kids learn so much about coping and refocusing, ect.... Poor Matt is so anxious and obsessive. To be continued.....
