Mel

I went and visited her last night - she was looking good. I think she was very pleased to have the nasal tube out and is hoping to get her drip off today provided she has about a litre of water. So they are taking it nice and slow - glad to hear, we dont want her back there for an emergency if she springs a leak!

Whilst I was there Dr Ritchie came in to see her, and another friend arrived. Elaine was very bright and didnt appear to be in any pain or discomfort - but they were keeping the Panadol drip up to her all the same.

Thanks Cherie - Yes its more or less the same with the band 2 weeks liquid and 2 weeks mushies. I have just discovered that i dont have 5 incisions but only 4 not counting the drain!!!I am not fading away yet as i did optifast 2 weeks prior and then i was not allowed anything at all for 4 days not even water in the hospital so i am getting some calories now through my liquids even if they are healthy.Elaine  How are you doing? Are you fading away to a shadow? Is the food rules same as banding - liquids, mushies, soft etc. I can't stop thinking about food at the moment, but have very high restriction so I cannot eat much. My head is craving for a big binge, but my band is doing it's job really well and I am living in la, la land just thinking about what dish I can have next and wishing away the days so I can get onto the next meal - have my menu planned in my head for the next 2 weeks - no hope for me I'm afraid. Meanwhile I have been deluding myself about giving up the gym in 6 weeks when I have my op. It pains me to say that I think I am going to have to continue next year or it will all have been a waste of time and money - why can't I be one of those people that learn to love the gym and become an exercise junkie instead of a food junkie.Elaine I have been thinking about you alot and can't wait to read about your success with your new WLS. You are a pioneer for the group aren't you - first one with a sleeve? Look forward to seeing you in a few weekscheersCherie

Thanks for the tip - i always cook with olive oil and use extra virgin raw - i will try cooking with coconut oil.ElaineHi Elaine,Thanx so much, I am over the moon witht he loss. I was told that the oil changes when cooked and the body absorbs it straight in as bad fat. He said that raw extra virgin cold pressed is fine but just now cook with.I am cooking with coconut oil. They tell me that it goes straight into the body but we don't store it as bad fat. The body can metabise it faster and absorb it in the right way.

Hiya Elaine

I mentioned that I am making your pie on the weekend. It was simple, tell me if I have it right. Just boil some eggs (was going to do 6-8), then mash them with some melted butter and put in the bottom of the dish. Cover with sour cream and then top with caviar and chopped flat leaf parsley. Correct?

thanks

Mel, sometimes eating too little can stop you losing weight! I am eating

well, just smaller amounts and good food choices. I could lose more quickly

if i give up my weekend vino and less healthy choices but what i am doing

works for me - i am enjoying my food and managing to lose very small amounts

each week but it all adds up - i have lost 17kgs since October. I only lost

..7 this week and i am over the moon!!

Hiya Elaine

I made your caviar and egg pie on the weekend - it was a hit and I think I ate the most of it and occasionally let others have a bit... it was so good. Yum, cant thank you enough for bringing it into my repertoire.
