Guest guest
Yesterday was my MIL & FIL's 50th wedding anniversary. We had a big family gathering at their house in the country. They have a large creek, almost like a small river, that runs through their property, has a beaver dam, is a lot of fun to walk to with the kids. I took my 3, my 9 & 12 yr old niece & nephew, and my 18 yr old nephew & his girlfriend. Well, of course as soon as we walked down there & I heard the water running, I had to go to the bathroom. Adam & Jama agreed to watch the kids while I walked back to the house to potty. I came out of the bathroom, looked down at the creek & saw they were all headed back. Dinah, my 5 yr old, came running up & said, " Allie jumped in the creek & Jama saved her! " Turns out Allie decided it was time for a swim. Jama saw her about to jump, told her not to, but Allie jumped anyway. Now the creek was down considerably from the drought, but Allie was still in over her head. Jama said Allie went under twice & Jama jumped in after her. I feel so bad for Jama, Allie LIKES going under water. Allie was probably swimming, but who knows for sure, there are currents & all. It was just very sweet of Jama to jump in, cell phone and all, to save my daughter. We've offered to buy her a new one but she won't accept. <sigh> And people say there are no good teenagers any more! The funny part was when they got back I told Allie, " Say you're sorry to Jama. " Allie said, " You're sorry! " Then everyone laughed & I got her to say it the right way. Then Allie looked at us all, made a " shew " sound and said, " Man, that was a close one! " Allie seemed to think the entire event was perfectly hilarious. Debi
