Guest guest
Carol, The best thing about this group is knowing you are not alone, and there is plenty of experience and good advice. We have experienced OCD with our daughter since she was 5. We tried all the traditional first line therapies - ERP and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (minus Rx meds) and although we worked w/ a top notch therapist from 's Memorial program, we struggled to make any progress over the years - resistance to engage from daughter mostly the issue. We agreed we would try another path b/f Rx meds, and if that failed we would then get her on meds. We worked with a doctor that was recommended to us by a naturopathic physician. Dr. Mark Janikula has treated my daughter with classical homeopathy (not to be conufused with other natural remedies or supplements). She has been working with him for over 18 months now and is like a different person - she's now 13. We experienced many of the same issues you and so many others have (rage, anger, dangerous behaviors, hours of non-stop repeating and reassurance seeking etc...). This approach took some time and patience as the first 3- months were trial & error, later we experienced some ups and downs during next 6 months .. She progressivley go better and better - really only a few slight things remain that are only noticable to me. I feel like we all have our normal lives back. Just wanted to let you know this was a life saving option that worked for us. So very critical to work with the right type of naturopathic doctor. Please feel free to email me if you would like more info. A book that was recommend to us to better understand homeopathy was " Beyond Flat Earth Medicine " . Honestly we used to think it was all a bunch of nonsense before we tried it - now I encourage everyone to consider this option.
