Guest guest
Just wanted to share a bit of positive news. I got a call from my PCP's office who said that I got a referral to a rheumatologist in Dallas who is on the Still's List of " experts. " I had requested him but didn't think my HMO (Blue Cross) would allow it, since I live in Fort Worth and he is in Dallas (about 30 miles away). It pays to try to establish a good rapport with your primary doc, I guess. I can't see him until July, but that's actually sooner than I expected. The healthcare thing has been crazy for me recently - for 12 years I worked for/was a member of Kaiser Permanente, a non-profit health plan (yes it's an HMO, but not like most HMO's - there the doctors really are in charge). I was so spoiled. Then my job moved me here and there is no service area here. Anyway, I'm very relieved that I don't have to " fight City Hall " just yet. I've also postponed the bronchoscopy until after I see this guy. Hope you all have great weekends, and that you all are pain and stiffness free.
