Guest guest
Two of my daughter have been involved with different studies at the rothman center in St Pete. We have had wonderful results. My oldest needed some medication to get started on the therapy but we are weaning he now and everything is going well. My 8 year old did therapy twice a week for 6 weeks and has made tons of progress, she didnt need any meds. Â We just called them and they said....well we have a study going on when can you come in. It was quick and everyone is super nice! Worked with Dr Storch and his therapists who were GREAT. They have intensive outpatient programs and i was just on their website and it looks like they are currently doing a study on intensive 1 week CBT to see if that works . If you were enrolled in the study the treatment would all be free and you would get a great deal of information on how to do the work and design the exposures. They also have standard 3-4 week outpatient intensive programs. We were in the scype study which looks like it is no longer going on, but you also could ask about video therapy since you are in state lines ( they cant do it across state lines except under study protocal). The problem about video therapy is insurance wont pay because it is not " face to Face " . But if you can swing it, and depending on your co pay, the price of gas, how far you have to travel etc, it might not cost much more than another specialist that is covered. They also do autism spectrum there. It is totally worth talking to them at the very least. Good luck
