Ida, did they give a " real " reason for refusing to take him?

I guess I was wondering if he is getting any accommodations, or help through the

school. . .If so, could that be why the refused, after first approving it?

Just speculating here, but I wouldn't think that is legal, if that's the case.

Was he being mistreated at his old school?

Can you try a private school, or even a different public school. . Maybe even

homeschooling?

It's not good for him to not get an education.

Are you in the U.S., Ida? Because here, he would be considered truant if he

isn't going to school anywhere.

We switched our 10 year old to online public homeschool and it has been

fantastic. We have an IEP and the support is so much better than brick and

mortar public school.

Ida, it seems like you need to have a meeting with the " old " school about why he

doesn't like it there and is refusing to go. Maybe there are some ways they

would be willing to work with him so he would like it better. I'd write the

" new " school and ask why they changed their mind after they admitted him.

Here, in our smaller community, there are certain schools you attend depending

on where you live (neighborhood) unless you go to a private type school. You

can get exceptions to attend a different one, certain reasons they will accept

to transfer. Also, here, they can charge the parent with truancy also if the

student isn't attending school so I'm hoping you can get your son to go!

We homeschooled for 11 years and loved it. The flexibility was very helpful.

Glad the online one is working for you. :o)
