Chris;

I was looking through my " Stedman's Medical Dictionary "

when I came upon a form of Still's that is brand new to me. It is called

Chauffard Syndrome or Still-Chauffard Syndrome.

I have also seen Still's referred to as Systemic JRA.

Hope this helps some.

God Bless!

Larry

Hi,

I read somewhere can't recall now where-- that there are like 3 differant

forms of Still's Disease just wondered if someone can tell me if this is true &

if so what they are or where I might find that information? I know there is JRA

& AOSD.

Thanks,

Chris

Dear

Here's what I found about Still- Chauffard syndrome:

Still-Chauffard syndrome --> Chauffard's syndrome

(Science: syndrome) The symptoms of still's disease in one suffering from bovine

or other nonhuman form of tuberculosis.

Synonym: still-Chauffard syndrome.

In other words, you have to have tuberculosis on top of it???

Must be missing something.

Maybe what you were refering to were the different courses that the disease can

take. There are basically three different courses: -Acute onset followed by

complete remission. (even if it takes 1-2 years)

-Acute onset followed by a less dangerous, but chronic form of the disease that

is hard to treat.

-Insidious onset progressing to a form of the disease where it starts attacking

the major organs early on. The most dangerous.

I fall into the second category. Unfortunately, I cannot remember where I read

this, or if I got this completely right. Any input is appreciated. I am blaming

Still's for the memory problems.

Best wishes,

beth
