Guest guest
Warning: This is a rant. If you don't want to read it, use the delete key. I saw my Dr. today. I am so tired of the back and forth he is doing. Now the diagnosis is " mild " RA with a strong case of Fibro. GRR! He says since I am having continues pain even on MTX and Prednisone then it is Fibro. He also mentioned that my labs are always normal for RA. He fails to see any " arthritis damage " from the X-rays. Yeah. No kidding. Light reflecting off bone with no details unless it is so severe. The ultra sound showed bone erosion's which he dismissed. Then he turns around and says I' m a mystery. I really don't think he knows what to do besides of priding himself over his book and his " cure " for Fibro. I walked away from that appointment with a drug for Parkinson's disease that he claims will help treat Fibro until we can " cure " it with my mind. I don't think I want to try it let alone take it for months on end.--This is so depressing when you know something more than Fibro is at play but I refuse to let this get the best of me. I plan on seeking other forms of treatment. I'm tired of dealing with a Dr. who is so wishy washy. I am ready to fire him. I refuse to see a Dr. who will not listen to my symptoms nor what I have to say. I have been telling him about the systemic problems I am having and he says it is not related. What?!? He presses over over my liver and if I say it's sore he says right away it's fibro. Or if I complain of pain in the spleen area, he says it's muscles without examining me. Has anyone ever been told if you respond to Prednisone then it's RA--a form of RA? He told me this when I first began to see him. Today he did a 180 and said that I was seeing results because it was Fibro. So, what am I to believe? Thank you for letting me rant. I think it's time to fire this guy and find another Dr--even if I have to travel over 200 miles to do it. I hope everyone is having low pain days and finding reasons to smile. , Oregon -- SPEEDY :-) Meds: MTX 15 mg; Prednisone 5mg; Leucovorin 5 mg; Armour Thyroid 60 mg Supporters: MSM; DHEA 25 mg; Omega3 fish oil 8 daily; Vit. Guest guest
, Sure does sound like firing time to me. The wishy-washyness would be what got me the most. Not that we don't expect some discussion of what is really going on with us, but he sounds a bit unstable about it all. Sheesh. And most importantly, you are not feeling comfortable and we must feel comfortable with our doctors and that they have our best interest in mind. So don't feel guilty about needing to reach out to another doctor. And rant all you need hun...we'll listen! xoxo, Houston
Guest guest
Thank you to everyone of you. It feels so good to know I am not alone and it isn't in my head. I have been such a flare and when I thought it couldn't get much worse, I woke up to so much pain in my left side. Of course the RD doesn't want to see me and my PCP is out and there is an on-call Dr. who doesn't know what to do when he sees me. He gives me any drug I name off. Boy, I'd be like a kid in a candy store if I had a drug problem. LOL. I hope all of you are having low pain days and finding that bright moment in your hearts. , Oregon > > Warning: This is a rant. Guest guest
what drug for parkinson's disease? My labs are normal these days , at first they weren't. If you have continues pain even with those toxic drugs, I would stop them too. Are you able to rest? That is very important. I would only take a medication if I knew it was helping. The exact name of the disease to me , is not the point. What relieves it is. Sometimes for me it is time and rest. Let me know how it goes Liz NJ
Guest guest
: Boys are you walking in my shoes or what? This is also almost word for word what my docs back in Idaho told me and did to me along with many many other drugs piled on top of it all . Then I moved to calif and went three years with out any medical coverage or drugs of any kind. Now the new docs in calif started to say and do the same thing .I moved again and new docs again. Now they only call it fibro and I found out kind of why. For billing proposes on my medical coverage so they get paid by the insurance and I do not get stuck with the bill. They also never get to see the blood work got nuts like it did at first no joint damage on x-ray but it is there I know that from the past . Now I have a internal doc, a rummy, one for eyes ears and trougt and soon two new one a cardiologist and a palmary doc. all the same kinds I had before only this time I demand that they work and talk with each other and every thing gets cleard with my primary and rummy be fore I let any one do any thing. I will also say some times I did not understand why they gave me some drugs but after doing a lot of internet searching and asking here most of the time I did later understand but from compactions of a drug mix I will never full and blindly trust any doc . when I question them as to the way how comes and what dose it do with this or that meaning drugs they get a little upset so I remind them of what I told them up front and this is what I said / " I have stills and you may or may not have heard of it but that's what I have .I do not trust docs because of a prescription drug mix that was bad for me and almost killed me. I will question every thing you say or give me if you can not deal with this scrutiny then let me know now so I do not waste your time or mine as I will be very active in things " well most did not believe it including the docs I now have but there getting the point and now work the closest with me I have ever had and it is now apparent they really are out to help me function and feel better Hugs all Marty I think it's time--rant Warning: This is a rant.
