Guest guest
Hi Fay, Have you checked the ocfoundation website yet? They have pamphlets that you can print off. Here is a link to one, and it outlines common obsessions and compulsions - http://www.ocfoundation.org/uploadedFiles/WhatYouNeed_09.pdf Someone on here did up a presentation for the teachers at their school and offered it to everyone here. You might try asking in a post with that in the subject line, if you are interested. Guest guest
Hi Fay, did you look at the OCD and School Personnel file in our FILES section? It's in the folder for school related. Also Barb mentioned a presentation a parent put together; it's a slideshow about OCD and is in the same folder. They presented it at their school to help educate about OCD, so look at it too. It's: Childhood Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.ppt Presentation by Trabulsy, M.D. Do you have a 504 Plan or IEP for him at school due to his OCD? We had a 504 Plan with accommodations for . Also I would call meetings with them to go over anything I needed to; so if something new had appeared with OCD and it was something I felt would show up at school, I would have called a meeting. If they know about his OCD, you probably don't need to mention it to them as to why he was having trouble with an assignment, you could just say in a general way that his OCD was interfering so 'took longer, didn't get done... " whatever. Quick thoughts, > > I want to send my son's teachers some info about OCD, so that they have a > better understanding of how he struggles. > > From time to time I send letters to the teachers, letting them know that my > son had difficulty with particular assignments due to specific rituals or > obsessions. Guest guest
I was the person who did a power point presentation for the school and then posted it for anyone in the group to use. The first portion is about OCD in general, the second portion is about my son in particular which I left in as a template so it could be modified for your childs issues if you want or deleted if you dont. It is posted in the files of this group I think or if you cant find it I am happy to email it to youl
