We tried 5HTP a couple times.

First time was already on inositol powder. I know some have taken a bit

of both at the same time, but 5HTP really wired up then.

Tried it again in high school, alone. Didn't help him. Though no

supplements/alternatives were helping, even the inositol powder which had helped

in middle school.

I do know some parents have used 5HTP and said it helped.

Here's one article with mention of it, look near the end:

If you try it, keep us updated, interested in hearing about it.

If I'm not mistaken tryptophan interferes with serotonin reuptake as it is a

substance that is a precursor to serotonin. You would then have to take care to

monitor behavior as you would with a prescribed SSRI and you should not take

tryptophan with a prescribed SSRI.

Thanks for information, Bonnie. My daughter is not currently on SSRI. They

didn't help her and she had bothersome side effects.

Hi Marcela,

I just noticed your name and hadn't " spoken " to you for quite a while. How are

things with Dalia at this time? Last time we connected things were not very

good, I think you were hoping anafranil might help. So hoping that you have

found something that has helped... Any new professionals to help or any new

developments?

I've thought of you often and wondered how things were.

Warmly,

Barb
