Hi

Yeah – I had mine replaced late last year – and I have heard

good things about the coil – it is funny though that the first reaction I had

when the Dr told me that it was due to the weight shift was, ok, fine, I will

get fat again – LOL – NO WAY BABE!!!

But I wish there was an easier way to solve the P problem……and

my periods were of a terrible nature as well and this solution was seen to be

an alternative to a hysterectomy…..what to do, what to do…..

I'll join in as well. I have had a Mirena (coil) for the past 3

years.....instead of having periods I have had a couple of days of spotting per

month. Considering that my life came to a complete standstill for a good week

every month and I was using maternity and incontinence pads, this was a

wonderful result!

I have had pretty much continuous spotting in the past few weeks

now and its driving me nuts! I never wondered if it might have been something

to do with the shift in weight or whatever, but maybe its related. I go and see

the doc on Tuesday to check things out. Its that plus the complete lack of

interest in EVERYTHING which has been worrying me a bit, feeling really

flat. I dont know if its related to stress, depression or what, but whatever it

is I want it to stop!

It also did occur to me that the level of hormones must be quite

low now after having it in there for 3 years and maybe that is leading to the

spotting - perhaps its the same with you, Leah, maybe you need yours replacing?

Hi ya’ll,

I have a little weirdness in that

department as well. For the past 4 years I have been on Implanon – the

contraception implant that goes in the upper arm and lasts for 3 years – well,

it has been wonderful, one lovely side effect has been no periods for 4

years.

However, now it is a different story, I

have now had 4 periods and they are coming in regular intervals and I took

myself off to the Dr’s to ask about it and he said that it is the shift in

weight which has made my body react differently and to get used to

it…..aagghhhhhh – bugger!

Hi Angel,

I know that my cycle is affected by any changes especially a big change in

eating habits and then it settles down again.
