Guest guest
Lauri Ann, I have blue cross. Back when I was on Enbrel, about 7 years ago, all injectables were $25 copay. They didn't like covering it, but they did. When I was on Remicade, I paid $20 every six weeks for an infusion....Which really made them mad because it was costing $3300 every six weeks! Now I take Kineret and they finally changed the rules and quadrupled my copay to $100 per month. We tried to get help from the Amgen, but of course I fall thru a huge crack and don't qualify for any help. Perhaps you can qualify for help from the company that make Enbrel, Immunex. It is marketed through Amgen, so one of those companies should be able to help. I know that I have a friend with MS who can't afford her meds and the company sends it to her home every month with little or no cost to her. So, if you can qualify, the support you can get from the maker of the drug can be quite helpful. I will say a prayer that you can get some help. Guest guest
Lauri Ann, I can tell you that 4 injections are $1600 for enbrel. It is quite expensive. I would suggest you call your insurance company and have them contact the doctor. That is how I got my insurance to cover the expense. It makes it so hard when the meds we need are that expensive. Until the drug companies worry more for thier patients and less about the lining of thier pockets the price of drugs will continue to go up. I hope you can get help with the cost. Guest guest
Laurie: You might also check with an organization I have seen montel advertise called PPArx.org I believe that it is based on income and other critieria. Not sure exactly what it all entails, but I have finally got my dad some help through them. Worth a try as well. I know my insurance plan will not cover any of the kineret, remicade or humira or anything of the like until I have a complete failure on the meds I am on. Worth a try. Guest guest
Hi Lauri. I don't know if this will help, but I have seen many commercials with Montel talking about help with meds. I'm not sure if Enbrel will fall under their plan but it can't hurt to try. The phone # they give is 18004ppanow. I hope this helps. Hope you have a good and dragon free day. Guest guest
thanks for the advice, but they already have been , the $255 was my copay, and i still cant afford it, the darned of it is my family is right in that crack, we supposedly make to much money to qualify for any assistance and yet we're poor as heck. idk, what to do, my husband has a decent job at a steel mill, works his butt off for us, we have private insurance but doesnt cover it all, i guess im better off than some, but if i were poorer i could get help with it, its so silly. we have 4 kids left at home and can barely make ends meet now, idk i guess prayers are all i can ask for thanks again, lauri Blondedolphin172@... wrote: Lauri Ann, I can tell you that 4 injections are $1600 for enbrel. Guest guest
Lauri Ann, Do you have a mail order option with your prescription coverage? I sure hope so, 'cause it's way cheaper that way. You would probably pay that amount for 3 months of medication. I get mine that way and it saves a ton of money. Check it out. Otherwise, not sure waht to tell you. The shot meds are very expensive. Guest guest
Lauri, I get my Enbrel through the Encourage Foundation. I'm uninsured with a low income so I get it for free. I do remember reading in the original paperwork I received that they work with insured clients too. Your doctor would have to contact them for you but it might be worth a try. If your copay is more than you can handle financially, you might be able to get it through The Encourage Foundation for just what the insurance would pay to them. If you would like any more information about this let me know.
