Guest guest
Hi Bruce, I hope PraireS. responds re: hospitalization for you. We did not hospitalize our son at any point. We did however do our homework and we were very close to residential care. I'm not sure where you are located but Memorial Hospital in Oconomowac, WI is renowned for their treatment of OCD and have Acute, Residential, and intense outpatient. People travel from all over the country to go there. They will do a free phone assessment which lasts 30-60min's and have their experts review the information and recommend a level of treatment whether you go to their facility or elsewhere. They work with most insurance companies to keep costs down. Unfortunately, it's quite expensive without insurance. This facility was featured on last season of the OCD Project on Vh1. The website = www.rogershospital.org. We inhaled as much information on OCD as we could and implemented a plan and hierrchy on our own when therapy was going nowhere, and then used the advice of a psychologist to agree or disagree with what we were doing. We offered incentives that would spoil the normal child, but we did what it would take to get through the exposures and our Dr. agreed with and encouraged this. Praying the med reduction works and OCD stays away. We had a funeral on Oct 1st and put it to rest for good we hope. We're still pinching ourselves. Prayers are with you.
