''I LOVE THIS SURGERY!!!!

can't say enough about it,and when someone says " oh,you have

had that surgery,I say NO I have had the DS, which is better..lol

God bless,

Pat''

I Love this surgery too. In researching WLS I found that only the DS would do.

I then took a couple of years to find the right surgeon, of course my choice was

superb! I have dealt with many RNY'rs. They all seem to act as if no other

form of surgery exists.

I went to a local WLS support group for 5 years while researching and waiting

approval & surgery date. It was open to " all " but I was the only DS in the

bunch. Talk about the 'Look " and the weight gain. I was around long enough to

see a great deal of the ole timers regain most or all of their weight loss. It

usually happened near that 3 year out mark. OH...I am so off topic!

Thanks,

Vicki

Ok...what do you do?

Ya tell them to STICK IT WHERE THE SUN DONT SHINE!

ok...

reality: you say " I cant believe you said such a nasty thing to me. Do you

Then you tell them that you would NEVER buy anything from someone who would

treat a customer (or a HUMAN BEING for that matter!) with such disrespect.

If you dont get an immediate appology (and a really GOOD one!), WALK AWAY and

never look back!

You are beautiful. You have come so far it is unimaginable to the average

person. They have NO CLUE what it is to be like us. They have NO CLUE what

REAL fat is all about. WE KNOW you are beautiful inside and out.

Hi Vicki,

so sorry to hear about your son. I know what your son is going through as I

have rheumatoid arthritis and after a long remission it came back when I was

15 yrs old with a vengence and I had to deal with it as well as try and go

to school. Perhaps the school might have a program for transporting those

students who are unable to attend due to long term illness or perhaps your

transit system has a special bus to take your son to school and back for the

similar fee to that as taking the bus. It got so bad for me that I had to

drop out of school and get a tutor in order to get my credits and pass the

grade.

I remember about 12 years ago I had my left wrist fused surgically as the

pain and swelling was unbareable....it actually felt like 100 pounds. It

was the best thing that I did for my wrist although I was scared as I didn't

know how I would be able to manage with a fused wrist but it's been 12yrs

now and I'm so glad I did as I don't notice a difference and it really

doesn't affect me in anyway. My right wrist is pretty bad and I have a

feeling that a fusion will need to be done in the not so far off future. I

do like to hold off as long as I can before having surgery but I know from

having the first one done that when the time comes to have the right wrist

done that it will be a decision well made. It's so nice not to have pain

there anymore and to have things like watches and bracelets fit the wrist

since it's not swollen and lumpy from all the destruction inside.

I wish your son all the best.

Marilyn

Hi everyone

Vicki here from Australia. My son has stills- he is

22. IHe too is having severe pain in his wrists and

the doctor has him wearing hard moulded wrist splints

of a night to immobilise his wrists. He also waers

smaller ones during the day when his wrists are too

painful to bear. He has had stills since November-

diagnosed very quickly. Having read Dr Cush's article

I am scared for him that his wrists will fuse!
