Guest guest
Hi All. I need your wisdom. Liam broke down last night because his shirt went up while playing on the playground at school. The kids said, " Ew, " and turned their heads. They were calling him fat, being really mean and told on him. He got in trouble. Not sure why as I'm sure the shirt would go up on anyone who hung upside down. He was hysterically crying last night, " Nobody likes me. I'm not popular. " etc. I tried to tell him that in the real world, no one will care who is popular at his school, he just needs to make one good friend, etc. I just don't know what to tell him. He was saying, " I hate having OCD. The OCD is why no one likes me. I'm different. " This is the first time he's " noticed " out loud that this is an issue. What do I tell him? How do I deal with this? How do I help him? I did email the teacher letting her know I was confused as to why he got in trouble for this and letting her know that he was being called fat, made fun of and feels he doesn't have friends. Geesh, you'd think that when I'm paying $700 a month, the school could be a little more vigilant about bullies. Thanks! Steffanie
