Ahhh Fi! See they are not failures - you ate them, so that is a win in my book.

Any of the slow cooked meats just have to be put in and forgotten for a few hours, slow braising is what gets the flavour and tenderness. Keep plugging away, it will happen! Promise

Until a few years ago I was cooking challenged. I couldn't cook anything - I had to call my Dad from London to talk me thru boiling an egg - true story.

Fi... are you stirring during the cooking process???? If you are ~ STOP ! That could be the problem. It is a set and forget style of cooking, until you throw the veges in during the last hour or so. Even then, do not stir it or it will go mushie!

And as Nic said, it is not a failure if you have used it on veal and zucchini - that sounds fantastic!

What a brilliant idea - the chutney. I have served them to the kids with smoked salmon and aoli, very healthy!!! All food we talk about is bad food... some of it is good

Hiya

Nic

We went away on the weekend with some

friends, and I made the z and h fritters for them. There were fat people,

skinny people, all shapes and sizes and we all loved them. I just served them

with a bit of Mango chutney on the side.

These were a great success!

Congrats Fi on the fritter success. They are good aren't they and

good idea to serve with the chutney. Practice makes perfect with

the crockpot but as Mel said, don't stir!!

Good luck with the next concoction

cheers
