clothing issues in NT child

Dinah is my NT 4 yr old. She's had a mild language delay, about 20%

delay that is quickly resolving itself. She's in a pre-k program & the

youngest in the class. She is testing higher than any other child

academically. We do not suspect Asperger syndrome because she does

social referencing, makes friends, good eye contact, understands

humor, etc.

For the last few months she has been amazing in the clothing

department. I'll go to help her get dressed and she starts crying, not

wanting what I'm offering. She tells me she's already worn it that

week. She only wants to wear an outfit 1 day a week, even though I've

washed it.

I went through this in junior high because of social stuff & wanting

to appear to have lots of clothes, etc. But what's up with a 4 yr old

being this way???? I'm starting to get a bit mystified with just what

she's aware of. She is also reading and doing some basic math.
